How Walt Disney Cartoons Are Made

When I was growing up I use to love taking trips to Disney World with my family and seeing all the artists at work in the shops. It was one of my favorite trips as a kid since all I wanted to do was be a cartoonist. Boy, have I changed since I was a kid, but the memories still remain. This wonderful video takes you inside the magical world of Disney cartoon making with their feature film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Oh to be a kid again!

This officially made my day, and tomorrow’s as well. Long live Disney!

Fantagraphics co-publisher Gary Groth Discusses Floyd Gottfredson’s “Mickey Mouse” Collected Comic Strips (Comic Book Resources)

“My impression is that most parents and children have very little understanding of the Mouse as anything but a one dimensional icon. I think readers may be surprised at how feisty a character he was. The stories themselves are classic adventure stories, full of mystery and intrigue. My favorites — and I have by no means read them all — have the great, classic villains, The Phantom Blot, for example, and take place in a world of gothic menace.”
