“I’m not saying Jason Todd has stolen Oracle’s chair and kicked her cripple ass to the ground, but he totally would. Anywho thats [me] as Countdown era Todd, and my wifey as Oracle. Will I cosplay Nightwing next and cheat on Starfire with her? Probably not.”
I don’t think I’ve ever hated another fan as much as I do right now.
I don’t even know what to say to this.
I don’t find any appeal to this. This is degrading to the characters… and in general. The people that created this are actually getting a kick out of it.
Tomorrow we start shooting (I THINK I’m legally permitted to say that). Day one. That’s right. We’ll be shooting the pivotal death/betrayal/product placement/setting up the sequel/coming out scene, at the following address:
[Marvel Lawyers rush in, take Joss’s keyboard, blowtorch a picture of his family like in “Stormy Monday”, drink his milkshake, leave the seat up, fluff his pillows, violently unfluff his pillows, leave]
Went too far. My bad. Anyhoo, it should be a fun day, followed by the eighty thousand other fun days it will take to finish this. I’ll be checking in from time to time, if there’s news or I crave attention (i.e. am awake) . None of it will be Avengers news — I have some very denty pillows to remind of that — but I may have tidbits. (They’re not about Firefly. I should say that up front, if only to protect Sis Mo from the HATORZ.)
Some of you may be saying, Joss! Why this link, here, now, why, huh, howcum? My friend Allyx turned me on to these guys, and I’ll tell you, they’ve gotten me through this intensely pressurized, preply time. I strongly recommend checking out their other vids — I’ve watched them many many times, and I have a very special place for “Teamwork” in my heart. These guys are the guys. And IS there a better movie title than “Eagles Are Turning People Into Horses”? I thought not.
So wish me luck. DO IT! LUCK! NOW! I’m off to finish some Buffy pages, and then figure out what the movie is about already. I’m pretty sure it’s about the Justice League [Marvel Lawyers re-enter, unspeakability occurs] or possibly something else. I’ll get it. I’ve been looking forward to this. For about 46 years.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Michael Shannon will star in the role of General Zod in director Zack Snyder’s new Superman film, titled “Man of Steel.”
Snyder stated, “Zod is not only one of Superman’s most formidable enemies, but one of the most significant because he has insights into Superman that others don’t. Michael is a powerful actor who can project both the intelligence and the malice of the character, making him perfect for the role.”
As General Zod, Shannon will go toe-to-toe with Henry Cavill, who plays the new Clark Kent/Superman in the film. The main cast also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent.
Tim Miller, who has done strong visual effects work on X-Men and other VFX-heavy films, was just set by 20th Century Fox to make his feature directing debut on X-Men Origins: Deadpool, the X-Men spinoff film expected to star Ryan Reynolds.
The screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick is an entertaining read …or so I’ve been told ;) Miller has been in the industry for a long time now, and his credentials are spectacular. Congrats to Miller for landing the job!
What's your opinion on what Marvel has been doing lately with the X-Men universe. I mean with the whole House of M story arc, then Messiah Complex, the rebuilding of X-Force as a black ops team, and the whole Second Coming story?
The X books as a whole have lost my interest after Morrison left New X-Men*. Despite not enjoying new X-titles, I have been hunting past Uncanny X-Men issues from the 80’s and 70’s… whatever I don’t already own (I have complete runs on everything X from ‘92 to about ‘04).
*You know what, scratch that —-I adored Whedon and Cassasay’s Astonishing X-Men. A-freakin’-dored. And then there’s PAD’s X-Factor… the only monthly X-book I still picked up.
I continue to read some X comics at my lcs time to time, but don’t buy any. The events really have been putting me off, too. I guess I can say that I am done with the X-books, as a whole… for now!
Thanks. I gave up on being a “normal” person the moment I picked that Dec. 1992 cover-dated issue of X-Men #15.
Almost 19 years later I continue to enjoy this peculiar medium, and I can honestly say that reading thousands+ of various stories (mainly superhero comics) have made me a better person, especially since I swore on my parents grave that I will fight for truth, justice, and pizza ;)
Who is the red guy supposed to be on the Empire magazine cover for X-Men First Class?
That’s Azazel, played by Jason Flemyng in the film. He debuted during “The Draco” storyline in Uncanny X-Men back in the early 2000’s, and was created by Chuck Austen, who will always be my least-favorite X-scribe.
What do you think of that Andrew Garfield dude as the new Spider-man?
Personally I think he's too old. They gave Tobey a hard time saying he was "too old" at 27. This dude is going to be 28/29 when this movie rolls around! I dont understand that logic.
I think Aaron Johnson or Logan Lerman would have been perfect since they are the ages of High School kids. (Johnson is 20 now but still better than 26)
And I guess on a shallow note and personal opinion I don't think that Andrew Garfield is that good looking lol. I always saw Peter as "hott yet dorky". Garfied just looks weird to me.
Hollywood magic. Garfield looks like he can pull off being 16, in appearance and mentally (um, ya know what I mean!). He was chosen for a reason, and I hope we the moviegoers see what Sony and Marc Webb saw.
As I mentioned before, this funnybooks tumblr is a sub-page or whatever-ya-calls derived from my main tumblr page, which contains more personal, hilarious and stereotypical depressing ramblings (my last post was a Cure song! Hell, it was a b-side no less!)
I’ll be more than happy to follow you from that account!
concerning peterspinal's ask, I thought MJ having a kid from Osborne is THE. That bastard Strachjasdlfjljka;sh;oil
That JMS-written storyarc actually turned me off of Spidey comics until the recent “Brand New Day” reboot. A real stinker, and sad considering that JMS was so awesome on the Spidey titles in the early 2000’s.
I want your full feelings on Neil's Sandman. I've been re-reading lately, just curious.
Sorry, but even I’m still uncertain about my full-on feelings about Sandman. I am literally sitting back at my chair, just closing my eyes and thinking of such fantastic stories… I can tell you that I loved the original 75-issue series and their Neil-written companions!
